Welcome! I’m Kathleen and I am glad you are here.

I am a thriving breast cancer survivor and mother to twins born via IVF after years of fertility struggles. I lost my mother to breast cancer at the age of 12, which taught me the importance of resilience through grief. I became a breast cancer awareness advocate from an early age and was faced with my own breast cancer fight 2 days after giving birth to my twins. Now, I am sharing my story for others to relate to and encourage others to continue to find their own strength through life’s challenges. My husband and I live with our twins and our dog in a suburb outside of Chicago.

what to expect

Forever Chasing Fireflies is a space that will help you chase your light when it is hard to find.

From a very early age, I was always searching for the “why” in every little thing. I know that we may never figure out the why, but we certainly learn some amazing lessons throughout our journeys. Even in the darkest of days, the fireflies are still there…you just have to search a little harder.

My hope is to share the things I have learned and continue to grow along the way.

There is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it.‘”– Amanda Gorman
